If climbing is part of your life, chances are you’ve wondered how to share that world with your kids without pushing it on them.

That’s why I created Tom and Katie’s Climbing Adventures.

Through four illustrated stories, Tom and Katie discover four different sides of climbing: indoor climbing, sport climbing, bouldering and traditional climbing. Along the way, they experience the excitement, challenges, friendships and little victories that make climbing so much more than simply getting to the top.

I originally wrote these stories because I was a climbing dad hoping my son might one day catch the climbing bug too. I looked for children’s books that could introduce him to the sport I loved and couldn’t find what I was looking for, so illustrator Sandrine Bulté and I decided to create one ourselves.

The result is a 76 page illustrated book made for climbing families, young adventurers, and kids who are curious about what all that strange gear in their parents’ closet is for.

Recommended for ages 7 to 12. Younger children can also enjoy the adventures as a read aloud with a parent.
